Description

The Gibson City Dome is a small area of apparent closure along the Osman Monocline, which is the east branch of the La Salle Anticlinorium in this area. The Gibson City Dome was mapped, using sparse well control, on the base of the Silurian System (Howard 1964). Howard showed an enclosed high covering approximately 15 square miles (38 km2), but indicated only one control point within the area of closure. Closure also is depicted on Bristol and Buschbach's (1973) map of the Galena Group.
