Description
The De Land Dome is a small enclosed high, which some researchers have considered to be part of the Downs Anticline. The De Land and Parnell Domes, however, are distinctly offset to the east of the Downs Anticline. Clegg (1972) showed 30 to 40 feet (9-12 m) of closure on the Danville Coal Member on the De Land Dome, whereas Treworgy (1978) indicated about 60 feet (18 m) of closure on the top of Middle Devonian carbonates. The Deland Oil Field was discovered in Silurian strata in 1981.
