Description
The Herald-Phillipstown Fault Zone, previously called Herald- Phillipstown Fault, is composed of two subparallel, slightly arcuate faults or narrow fault zones, the ends of which overlap in map view. The faults strike slightly east of north and, like the other faults of the Wabash Valley Fault System, are high-angle normal. Maximum displacement is approximately 350 feet (105 m) down to the east. Between the two overlapping fault segments, the strata dip to the north.
