Description

Bristol (1975) mapped the Equality Fault as branching northeastward off and forming a graben with the Albion-Ridgway Fault Zone. Bristol and Treworgy (1979) reinterpreted the structure as a flexure rather than a fault. Nelson and Lumm (1987) showed the Equality Fault, although they did not name it, on their structure map of the Springfield Coal Member (Pennsylvanian). Their subsurface data indicate about 80 feet (25 m) of throw, down to the west on this fault in Section 5, T9S, R9E, Gallatin County. The name Equality Fault is reinstated here.
